After falling in love with the country on our 30th anniversary trip, Jennifer and I voted enthusiastically for a return to Portugal for a Harriman family reunion in the late spring of 2019. We rented two beautiful homes on AirBnB (for 20 people) in Sintra. It was a great choice.
We revisited the National Palace and the Pena Palace, but also took in the Moorish Castle as well as the amazing Quinta da Regaleira with its palace-like home and fanciful gardens, including lakes, grottoes, wells, fountains, and other interesting structures. It was the former home of António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, otherwise known as "Monteiro the Millionaire."
We also spent many quality hours as a family group just chillin' at one of the two homes.
